Inside dance - Cris Aysel by Clepsidras
Inside dance - Cris Aysel
East fest Lisboa 2014 Main Gala

Dancer - Cris Aysel

Style - Indie fusion

I was lucky enough to be a volunteer in East Fest Lisboa 2014 edition and was allowed to take photographs of the contest, opening gala and main gala. I have discovered, from my privileged point of view in the backstage, that dancers have two smiles. And it is when they think no one is watching that the smile devoted to dance and to themselves come out. I am humbled and happy that I could see and captured that moment. Thank you, dancers.

Finally I have sat down to go through my watchers list. For ages that I don't see the works of people I like because I'm cluttered with group postings and some people I don't appreciate the work anymore.
They didn't stop being good artists. Simply I don't really care anymore what they do.
Saying so made me realize "many" artists that I watched-back (which means it was a two way watch) didn't watched me anymore. Specially fractalists. I was sad in the few firsts and I unwatched many of them too. Not by spite but because if they unwatched me because I don't put fractal art as my main art anymore (and they don't care about the others, which they are entitled to!), I found out that, the ones I unwatched, 'cause I kept some, even if they don't watch me back anymore :), I couldn't comment on their works anymore either, since I found them most repetitive. That left me sad, believing you or not.
But I'm thankful dA doesn't warn one of loosing watchers. That would be a severe blow on my online-fractal-posting-self-esteem for a while, I confess. This way it was a lot easier to unwatch without remorse.
Therefore, I hope my inbox flow eases a bit and I actually have time to comment and fave work made by people I like and admire, and some of them watch me too. :)
For the present time, I will keep posting some photographs, because I'm still getting the hang of having a full time job (thank goodness! bless you Universe!), but indeed I hope to get my fractal art back on business anytime soon. (meaning along the year)

Reality in the metamorphosis of Stone and Metal by Clepsidras
Reality in the metamorphosis of Stone and Metal
"I don't fear tomorrow for my dreams are welcome in closed houses. I will keep them there sleeping until the day and night are forgotten and tomorrow never comes. So, why fear something that will never happen? Stone and metal will keep them safe. Stone and metal will keep them to eternity. And when my bones are dust and my spirit old, they will still keep my dreams.
But no one will listen. No one will know." © 2015 - All rights reserved,  Filipa Nunes

Ivory Song by Clepsidras
Ivory Song

I sing in the night.
I go far away
In your plain sight.

"Tell a tale" project:

I started this "project" last year, and here I am, doing it again. These wonderful flowers are a "oh-so-natural" flowers in Sintra. I never realized they were so special until I took a non-Portuguese friend there and he was amazed by the quantity of them.
The original picture is a bit "color-burned". When I am in a hurry it happens that I do not have the time (light moves very fast when you are in the middle of the mountains) to take more that a few pictures. I had tried a few configurations, but the colors were really getting pretty strong. It was my first time out in Sintra with my 50mm lens, so, I guess I was allowed my "mistakes". I took the picture in the RAW format and opened it up a couple of times in Lightroom, with no avail to figure out what to do with it.
So I tried again today, since I'm in a BW mood. My BW feeling is a occupational hazzard of having a BW summer course, almost 20 years ago (!). Square was the obvious solution to end up the over-shadowing of the other elements (I couldn't get closer to the flower) and non-central is almost always a choice of mine. It does give you the perspective of a story, not a plain flower photograph.
Got the pre-selected blue high contrast filter and messed it so much with it, that the original settings were almost all gone. Using pre-selected is a good idea when you are searching for a certain thing, feeling, or you know where you are headed, but my experience tells me, each photo is a photo and put it plainly may even work on some... but definitely doesn't work always.
So invent!
The watermark was added also in Lightroom, so this one is a Lightroom-only child.

Enjoy!

:sun:A little F.A.Q:sun:

Q: Do you place your works in other galleries?
Besides of the accounts above mentioned: in My facebook personal page.
Neither my texts or my images are public domain. or it will ever be.
Publicizing them as your own, in any form, is art-theft.

Q: Uh! I love your work! Can I use it for my band/site banner/t-shirt/whatever-I-want-to-do-with-it ?
NO. Go and make your own.

Q: ... even if I credit you?
I said NO.Neither my texts or my images are public domain.

Q: But can I share your artwork with proper crediting?
As you can see, dA have an option of sharing in each artwork. And you can see here, on :devclepsidras, that I've that option on. So, if you want to share it by using it, it's ok. Otherwise, downloading/uploading in other sites, or dA, like blogs and youtube, etc, its not ok.
You can't use them for videos and animations, neither as background of your works. - Even if you *forget to mention*. That is art theft.
References for traditional art? Ask me first, I will probably say yes and ask you to credit my original work, but ask, ok?

Q: Do you do requests or commissions?
No.

Q: Do you sell your artworks?
If you are interested in buying some of my art, you must know I only use paypal as a option of payment and:
1 - You can check my redbubble/deviantart account to see if the work is for sale.
2 - Prints here ( Clepsidras) are from some selected works. Check the "for sale" folder.

Note: Photomanipulations are not, and will be not for sale. Usually a lot of trouble comes because of stock rights.
